Editorial Policy
Last updated:This Editorial Policy explains who writes Best Home Kitchen, how a guide gets from draft to publication, and the standards every article is held to.
Who We Are
Best Home Kitchen is a small, independent review site for cookware, small kitchen appliances, kitchen tools, food storage, and everyday home essentials. Every article names the editor who wrote it and shows both the publish date and the date it was last updated. You can read about the team on our About page.
Research, Not Test Kitchen Claims
Our reviews are research-based. We compare manufacturer spec sheets and care instructions, stated certifications, warranty terms, and patterns in verified owner feedback. We do not run a test kitchen, and we do not claim to have cooked with or used a product unless the article says so explicitly and explains how. Our full method is on the How We Review page.
How a Guide Is Made
- Criteria first. Before anything is ranked, we state what the category is judged on.
- Same scoring for every product. Every product receives a BHK Score from the same published formula: the average rating from verified Amazon buyers converted to a 10-point score (7.0 plus 0.6 per star, capped at 9.9). We never adjust it by hand. Our editorial judgment is in the written review, pros, and cons.
- Balanced assessment. Every recommended product lists real drawbacks alongside its strengths, and each guide says who should not buy it.
- Checked before it publishes. Before a guide goes live, an editor checks every spec, model number, care instruction, and safety claim against the manufacturer’s current listing.
Use of AI Tools
We may use AI tools to help organize research or draft parts of an article. No article is published without an editor reading it in full, checking every fact, spec, and model number against its source, and taking responsibility for the final text.
Accuracy and Sources
We do not publish specs, measurements, review counts, or awards we cannot trace to a source. Where information is missing or unverified, such as an oven-safe limit or cooktop compatibility a listing leaves out, we say so rather than estimate. We do not hardcode prices into articles, because prices change constantly; current pricing is shown at the retailer.
Safety Content
Kitchen products involve heat, electricity, sharp edges, and food handling. Where it applies, we note the certifications a manufacturer states (such as UL, ETL, and NSF) and open CPSC recalls. We only repeat food-contact or material claims, such as BPA-free or PFAS-free, when the manufacturer states them. We do not give electrical, food-safety, nutrition, or medical advice, and our guides are not a substitute for the manufacturer’s manual.
Independence
Best Home Kitchen earns money through affiliate commissions. Commissions play no part in the BHK Score or the labels. We do not accept payment for coverage, rankings, or scores, we do not accept free products in exchange for coverage, and no brand sees an article before it publishes. See our Affiliate Disclaimer.
Updates and Corrections
We review guides regularly and update them when models are discontinued or replaced. When we find or are told about an error, we verify it, fix it in place, and note substantial changes at the top of the article.
